DDU DDP EXW air freight

The full name of EXW is Ex Works (...) named place). Refers to the delivery of the goods by the seller from the factory (or warehouse) to the buyer, and unless otherwise specified, the seller is not responsible for loading the goods onto the car or ship arranged by the buyer, nor for carrying out export customs declarations. The buyer bears all costs and risks from the time of delivery to the final destination of the seller's factory.

DDP stands for Delivered Duty Paid and is a term used in global trade to outline who is responsible for what when shipping goods. For DDP shipping, the seller takes on most of the responsibility. Not only are they responsible for organizing and paying for shipping, but they are also responsible for customs clearance and covering any applicable duties and taxes.

Delivered Duty Unpaid (DDU) is an old international trade term indicating that the seller is responsible for the safe delivery of goods to a named destination. The seller pays all transportation expenses and assumes all risks during transport.

Q: What is Air Freight?

A: Air Freight means the transportation of goods or mail via airplanes, helicopters, or other aircraft. Considered as expeditious and efficient, air freight is utilized for the transferring of valuables, fresh or live products, and precise instruments in international trade.

Q: What are DDU & DDP?

A: Air Freight is generally point-to-point. Door-to-door service becomes possible when freight forwarding starts to play a role in international trade. Air Freight includes two common types: air DDU/DAP and air DDP, and the biggest difference between the two is whether the duties (and taxes) are paid by the buyer or seller.

Q: What Is Delivered Duty Unpaid (DDU)?

A: Delivered Duty Unpaid (DDU) is an old international trade term indicating that the seller is responsible for the safe delivery of goods to a named destination. The seller pays all transportation expenses and assumes all risks during transport.

Q: Is DDU Shipping or DDP Shipping Better?

A: There are pros and cons to each method of shipping. It ultimately boils down to what the buyer or receiver wants out of their shipping experience.
DDU is a good option if the receiver prioritizes control of the shipping process and doesn't mind the legal complications or surprise charges that come with more control. But DDP is probably the way to go if a buyer wants a streamlined process without the possibility of any surprise charges.

Q: Who Is Responsible for DDU Shipments?

A: The seller is fully responsible for the delivery of the goods to the destination country under DDU shipping rules. The seller assumes all risks involved up to unloading. The buyer bears the risk and cost of the unloading.
